FALL 2018 ORC, WEEK FIVE: ART DECO INSPIRED MASTER BATH MAKEOVER

So close! The finish line for the Fall 2018 One Room Challenge is in sight and I’m hustling as hard as I can! It’s Sunday evening and despite telling myself I was going to get ahead of the game this week and get linked up early, it didn’t happen. I was too busy working and it’s kind of hard to stop and change gears once I get going. Ya know?

I have done SO MANY THINGS since Week Four. First of all, I painted and stenciled the floor with my Royal Design Studio Starry Night Stencil and it looks glorious! I’m contemplating doing a DIY post on how to stencil tile floors. Make sure to comment below if it’s something you’d be into learning about. I know I’ve learned a lot in the process! I still need to seal it, which involves four days of sealing and then waiting in between, so I decided to save that for last and cover up the floor in the meantime so I can TCB.

LOTS of things came in the mail in the past week too! My Mitzi Abigail pendant, for one, and it is absolutely beautiful! I also got the mirror combo I’m going to rig (for more on that, see Week Four), the penny tile for the backsplash and shower insert, the brass Schluter edging for the backsplash, the sink cabinet handles, and the new matte black toilet handle and shower head.

Sink cabinet door fronts.

In the past few days, I have started the backsplash tile, hung the pendant light, built the new IKEA sink and cut the wood pieces for the door fronts to snazz it up a bit, and mapped out the wall moulding. I also ordered a few things to use to style the sink area and painted the rest of the shower grout white.

What still needs to be done? I need to finish tiling behind the sink area, but I’m currently twiddling my thumbs while I wait for a patch to dry where the vanity light used to be. I need to put a few more clear coats on the fixtures I painted, hang the wall moulding, touch up the wall paint, seal the floor, and put everything back together. Then, finally, the fun part – styling and photographing! I’m particularly excited to hang my Art to Frames acrylic frame!

Stay tuned my friends! I can’t wait for the big reveal next week!

If you haven’t followed along up until this point and would like to get up to speed, check out my posts from Week One, Week TwoWeek Three, and Week Four. You can also check out the other ORC participants here.

Thank you to my sponsors, Mitzi LightingRoyal Design Studio Stencils, and Art to Frames. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
