I can't believe we're already two weeks into the 2021 Spring One Room Challenge, but time is flying on by just like I knew it would! Let's do a little recap, shall we? Last week, I divulged the secret I'd been dying to tell you all for months now - that we're converting our attached garage into additional living space. Woohoo! Well, Week Two is all about the vibe I'm going for in our garage-turned-den: think a little desert, a little Memphis, a little Art Deco and there you go! I have several things up my sleeve for this one that I'm super stoked over, so I have to be careful not to give away too much; HOWEVER, I do want to give you an idea of what's to come.
Those of you who watched my YouTube video I shared during Week One know that we'd built our subfloor, hung a lot of drywall, mudded a little bit (still so much more to do), installed a couple of windows, and framed out a fireplace before the ORC even started. Ya know ... NBD ... Well, during the past week, we've cut out an opening into the den that will become an archway and framed out a whole entire wall with built-in shelves. We're hoping to finish that in the next few days because Week Three is all about the terrazzo fireplace. Seriously, someone pinch me because I can't even ... It's going to be so good. Until then, I'm going to leave you with some of the pretty things I plan to use to style the aforementioned built-ins (and every other surface I can get my hands on) and OMG I can't wait!
